The Daily Struggle of Water
A Mother's Perspective
As a mother, I face countless challenges every day. But there’s one particular struggle that weighs heavily on my heart: the constant battle to secure water.
It’s not just about quenching thirst; it’s about survival. In our makeshift home, water is a precious commodity. Each morning, we embark on a mission to fill our water containers from the communal tank. It’s a laborious task, but it’s essential for our daily needs.
Once the water is brought back to our kitchen, it’s carefully poured into a smaller container. This small container becomes our lifeline, providing water for washing dishes, preparing meals, and other essential tasks. Every drop counts. We’re constantly mindful of the limited supply.
The Harsh Reality
Even after water is used for cleaning dishes, it’s not wasted. It’s collected and reused for other purposes, like flushing the toilet or cleaning our living space. This cycle of fetching, using, and reusing water repeats multiple times a day.
This is the harsh reality we face. Despite the challenges, we find strength in unity and resilience. We adapt, we persevere, and we hope for a better future.
The Impact on Our Lives
The constant struggle for water has a significant impact on our lives. It affects our health, hygiene, and overall well-being. It limits our ability to cook nutritious meals, clean our living space, and maintain basic hygiene.
Moreover, it takes up a significant amount of our time and energy. The time spent fetching water could be used for education, work, or simply spending quality time with our families.
By sharing our story, we hope to raise awareness about the challenges faced by refugees and displaced people. We urge you to support our family to provide clean water and normal life
By amplifying our voices, we can work towards a future where our family has access to clean water and a safe place to call home.
