Playing with sella : A Child's World in a Tent
Sella's world is a tent. A tiny, fragile space that holds her entire childhood. In a place where war has stripped away the simple joys of life, we strive to bring a smile to her face. We play games, tell stories, and do our best to create a sense of normalcy. But it's not enough.
A Stolen Childhood
I often think back to our real home, where we had prepared a room for her filled with games, toys, and bright colors. We had dreams of giving her a happy, carefree childhood. Now, seeing her live in a tent with none of those comforts is heartbreaking.
Sella’s world has shrunk to the confines of this fragile tent. It breaks my heart to see how our world, once filled with opportunities and choices, has been reduced to this small, empty space. The borders of her childhood are now the fabric walls of a tent.
Sella deserves more. She deserves a childhood filled with laughter, play, and the promise of a bright future.
What Would You Do?
If you were in our situation, how would you bring joy to your child in such limited conditions?
How would you create a sense of normalcy in an environment that is anything but normal?
What small acts of happiness would you try to provide?
We’d love to hear your ideas and experiences.
